Mika Muhonen, Markus Tyrkkö and Juha Rauhala are not francophiles but hiking enthusiasts. Thus, the team name Toulouse refers to tinderbox rather than the French city.

Why did you decide to register to this race?

We are three hiking enthusiasts always up for a challenge so we couldn’t resist the temptation when we heard about this event.

What kind of trip you expect LWC to be?

Most likely a really challenging one, but definitely something that we will remember after many years.

Tell something about your team. What does the name stand for?

We are a group of hiking/fishing enthusiasts that are not afraid of challenges. The team name has its origins in our scouting background. It’s derived from our group name Tulukset (tinderbox) and has nothing to do with the city in France.

What is the longest distance you have traveled in terrain (by foot) in 24 hours?

We have done a couple of 24 hour hiking challenges. The longest that we have traveled in those is 100 km.

What’s your goal in LWC?

To make it back together in one piece, push our limits and cover enough distance that we won’t need to come back to the area for the views!
