Why did you decide to register to this race?
Johanna heard stories of wonders of Vätsäri from a local chimney sweeper in Kaamanen a few years ago and had been looking for a reason to go since then. Olli, Bertta and Oula trust Johanna’s chimney sweeper stories completely. LWC is the only logical conclusion. Maria joined the team after the Kaldoaivi Ultra Trail was cancelled to get to enjoy some time in the wild anyway.
What kind of trip do you expect LWC to be?
At times challenging, mostly fun, and all together awesome. Swimming across rivers sounds intriguing.
Tell something about your team. What does the name stand for?
The first half of the name Kaviaaripohkeet (Caviar Calves) is related to Oula’s, Olli’s & Johanna’s history of travelling together in Russia. The second half is borrowed from Johanna’s cycling team Suloiset pohkeet (Cute Calves), the most empathic cycling team in Finland. Bertta and Maria decided to join the team a bit later, simply having to deal with the embarrassing team name. 😉
What is the longest distance you have traveled in terrain (by foot) in 24 hours?
As this team we are yet to take the first steps together. Individually or in subsets x – 57 km
What’s your goal in LWC?
Remembering to return from the wilderness on the right day. What if we enjoy it too much and want to stay?!
